The Southern Arkansas Tailgate News is a weekly magazine designed to promote Christianity, community advancement and high school sports from the Southern Arkansas counties of: Clark, Nevada, Garland, Saline and Hot Spring.
Direct coverage is done for Gurdon and Malvern, with consistent hand ins from Fountain Lake. Other areas submit photos and tidbit news. The editor is John Hancock Nelson, from Hagerstown, Indiana. Nelson is a Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana journalism and psychology graduate who holds a bachelor of science in those subjects.

Sponsorship ads that you want in for 15 issues are 15 runs for $200, which brings the cost per 2×2 down to $13.33 per ad. Stay with us for $300 worth of advertising and we will do a free business review with a photo, starting on page 1.
If you mail in your check and business card, we will mail you back a tax receipt. Open rate is $6 a column inch. The larger the number of runs, the cheaper per run. Ad changes are free. The magazine comes out 49 times a year, skipping one right after July 4 and one just after Christmas. The third skip is the first Friday in January to celebrate New Year’s Day.
